US Mint Halts Penny Production- What this means for AltaOne members

The U.S. Mint has officially stopped producing pennies

This is part of a nationwide shift to modernize currency and reduce costs. Here’s what you need to know at AltaOne:
No More Penny Orders
We’re no longer able to order pennies. Once our current supply runs out, we won’t be able to include pennies in cash transactions.
Deposits Still Welcome
You can still bring in your pennies (rolled if more than $1), and deposit them at any AltaOne branch.
Cash Transactions
For your convenience, you can deposit the change into your AltaOne account or donate it to the AltaOne Foundation, which supports local charities in our communities. Or if need be, we’ll round transactions up to the nearest nickel.
